Year in Review
A Year of interviewproject:PHILADELPHIA
We started interviewproject:PHILADELPHIA exactly one year ago today, on March 7th, 2016, when we posted our first interview with music producer Ben Thomas. We embarked on this journey simply to fulfill a curiosity and knock out an AP Photo project all in one shot. We never expected for people outside of our immediate friend group and families to read anything on the site. To look back on the past 12 months and see what we've been able to accomplish is truly heart-warming. We can't thank you all, our readers and supporters, enough for everything that you've driven us to do. To celebrate the amazing people we've met, events we've attended, and our plans for the future, we will be offering previews of some future content every day for the rest of the week on the site and on Instagram. Additionally, on Saturday we will have a special announcement for you all that we think you'll be really excited about! We definitely are! First, though, we wanted to give a brief wrap-up of the year through some stats and a couple of our favorite moments. Enjoy!
The Year in Numbers
Over the past 12 months we've had over 2,100 visitors to the site with over 240 of you from the UK, which is just mind boggling. We've completed nine interviews with 11 amazing creatives from Philadelphia as well as covered two events. We wrote up two song reviews about local up and coming artists that we like. We've expanded our team outside of the two founders to include three more contributors and we amassed 474 Instagram followers. We also published nearly 24,000 words of copy and 90 photos, with countless more written and taken that never made it to publication.
Even though we truly enjoyed every moment spent working on this project over the past 365 days, we want to highlight a few of the standout moments. Whether the interview itself was special or the relationship that we created with that artist, these are our favorite moments of the past year. (Turn phone sideways + use arrows to scroll)
Thanks so much for sticking with us throughout this past year! We hope you have enjoyed the stories of the artists that we've shared with you and continue to enjoy what we have in store for you in the next 12 months. Don't forget to follow us on Instagram and to look out for our special announcement on Saturday!
